Olympia modular seating set
The ERLAU classic for straight and curved seating arrangements. Olympia has been part of the ERLAU outdoor range since 1972. This seating set combines wire mesh panels with a distinctive round-tube frame and, thanks to its straight as well as inwards and outwards curved elements, offers versatile options for designing public seating areas.
A classic that has been shaping public spaces for decades: Olympia has been part of Erlau’s outdoor range since 1972. Its characteristic wire mesh construction, the generously flared seats and the strikingly curved Backrests give this seating set a high degree of recognisability. The combination of straight and curved seating elements allows for custom seating arrangements that go far beyond the classic straight row of seats.
The seat and backrest surfaces are made from wire mesh and round tubing with a diameter of 30 mm. The wire mesh has a grid size of 15 × 15 mm with a wire thickness of 3.3 mm. The entire surface is whirl-sintered with polyamide Rilsan and has a coating thickness of at least 350 µm. The tubular steel legs are Hot-dip galvanized and additionally Powder-coated. Another characteristic feature of Olympia is the design of the seats: a knee rest forms the front edge, whilst the backrests are complemented by an integrated armrest. This creates the distinctive, flowing contour that continues across the various seating elements. For customised planning, single-seater elements – curved inwards or outwards – as well as straight two-seater seating elements are available. For example, these can be used to create curved, circular or S-shaped seating arrangements. A seating element without a backrest is available on request. Olympia also offers various configuration options. The seating set can be designed to be mobile, fixed in position or fitted with a Base plate. Matching centre legs are also available in all three variants and facilitate the creation of larger seating arrangements.
Olympia thus combines a design language that has stood the test of time since 1972 with versatile options for creating individual seating arrangements – from straight rows of seating to dynamically curved configurations. A classic in the Erlau range, whose characteristic wire mesh appearance and modular geometry continue to make a distinctive statement in outdoor spaces to this day.
