Tradition and innovation – quality from Germany
The Erlau brand has its roots in Erlau AG, founded in 1828 and based in Aalen, Germany. For over 190 years, we have stood for German engineering excellence and an uncompromising philosophy of quality. Our products are developed in Germany – to the highest standards of weather resistance, durability and sustainability. As part of RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH & Co. KG, which was also founded in Aalen in 1875, we are now a key component of the internationally successful family-run RUD Group. With over 1,700 employees worldwide, the RUD Group sells its products in over 120 countries and generates an annual turnover of over 200 million euros.

Public spaces fulfil many functions simultaneously. They enhance the quality of life, facilitate interaction and communication, organise mobility and shape the character of cities, towns, residential neighbourhoods and corporate campuses.
We therefore see our role as more than simply furnishing outdoor spaces. We aim to support planners and operators in designing public spaces that function effectively in the long term and are enjoyed by users.

Our mission: To improve quality of life through sustainable street furniture
We view sustainability from both an environmental and an economic perspective. This includes the use of durable materials, the ability to maintain and refurbish products over many years, and the most conscientious use of resources possible.
At its Friedensinsel site, ERLAU combines this commitment with a long corporate history. Its quality and environmental management systems are certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; in addition, it has a certified energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001.
Long-term usability also plays an important role in product development. After all, public spaces are not designed for short periods of time. Materials, construction and design must therefore stand the test of time in everyday use.
Creating public spaces for people to come together
We want to create places where people enjoy spending time – places for meeting others, socialising, being active and relaxing.
To this end, we combine functional requirements with design and support our partners in developing solutions for parks, squares, transport hubs, residential neighbourhoods, corporate sites and other public or commercially used outdoor spaces.
Our aim is not to apply the same solution to every location. Different uses, architectural concepts and spatial contexts call for different approaches. With a versatile and, in some cases, modular product range, we create the creative freedom needed to achieve this.
