Olympia Nova offers straight and curved seat shells that can be flexibly combined to create different seating configurations. Straight elements are available as single and two-seaters; curved elements also allow for the creation of different radii.

Design options

The combination of straight and curved elements allows for both clean lines and seating arrangements that follow the contours of the space. This means the layout can be specifically tailored to paths, squares, trees, fountains or other features of public space design.

Arrange in a straight line
Clean-lined seating arrangements for paths and open spaces. Straight Olympia Nova units can be arranged to form linear seating areas. Single- and two-seater variants allow for flexible adaptation to the available space and the desired number of seats. Ideal for linear outdoor spaces, along paths or for structuring larger open areas.
Arrange in a circle
Integrate open-space structures specifically into seating planning. Curved Olympia Nova elements allow for seating arrangements where people face inwards. This creates semi-circles or enclosed seating circles that encourage communication and socialising. This radius-based arrangement is particularly suitable for squares and communal areas where social interaction is the focus. Erlau recommends an inward-facing radius for such conversational seating sets. Trees, columns, fountains or other design elements can be incorporated into the seating landscape using Olympia Nova. An arrangement tailored to the radius, with views directed outwards, creates seating areas that incorporate existing structures whilst simultaneously opening up the view to the surrounding public spaces.
Arrange freely
Not every surface follows a straight line. With Olympia Nova, seating areas can be adapted to different radii and spatial conditions. In addition to semi-circles and full circles, curved arrangements such as S-bends are also possible. This allows the seating layout to respond to pathways, architecture and existing features in the public spaces.

Olympia Nova’s seat shells combine the delicate appearance of the wire mesh with an Ergonomic-style slightly curved seat and knee support. The wire mesh is whirl-sintered with polyamide Rilsan and designed for long-term outdoor use. Olympia Nova thus combines individual design options with high seating comfort and the tried-and-tested properties of the Erlau wire mesh construction.
